US imposes sanctions on Russian bank

According to Mikrofonnews Agency (MHA), the United States of America has imposed sanction on a Russian bank for evading sanctions on North Korea.

The Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) said on August 3 that it was adding Agrosoyuz Commercial Bank of Moscow to its list of sanctioned entities and persons for being engaged in transactions with North Korean Foreign Exchange Bank in Moscow.

A statement released by OFAC says the United States of America will continue to impose sanctions for blocking all ways for North Korea’s illegal incomes.

Reuters has quoted some diplomats in the United Nations as saying that the United States of America has urged the UN to put the name of the Russian bank on its blacklist.

Meanwhile, Russia has denied another report on Friday saying that Russia has provided thousands of North Korean citizens with work permit which is considered a violation of UNSC’s sanctions on North Korea.
