US concerns over a possible Assad-Kim meeting

According to Mikrofonnews Agency (MHA), the US State Department says the United States of America is concerned of a possible meeting between Syria’s President Bashar Assad and North Korea’s Kim Jong-un.

We cannot confirm the reports of an upcoming meeting between two but the United States of America will be definitely concerned if the meeting takes place, said a senior diplomat in the US State Department.

Earlier, North Korea’s state news agency said Bashar Assad will visit North Korea without specifying the date. The report is yet to be confirmed officially by North Korea or Syria.

South Korea’s news agencies have also reported the Assad has welcomed positive development in North Korea saying he supports any decision taken by Kim Jong-un.
