US calls Iran the biggest threat for the Middle East

According to Mikrofonnews Agency (MHA), James Mattis US Secretary of Defense has called Iran the biggest threat for the security and stability of the Middle East.

He said Iran has been told that its destructive role in the regions including providing support for Houthi rebels in Yemen, supporting Assad’s regime in Syria and their activities in the Strait of Hurmuz is not acceptable for the United States of America.

“In some cases, we see that Iran is not showing the willingness to conflicts directly but it has remained as the only cause for instability in the region. Iran has been warned several times and they will be taken accountable for their destructive roles”, said Mattis.

Meanwhile, General Joseph Danford, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the American Armed Forces said in a joint press conference with James Mattis that the United States of America will remain focused on the military operation in Afghanistan, defeating Daesh leaders in Iraq and Syria and confronting Iran’s destabilizing activities in the region.
