According to Mikrofonnews Agency (MHA), at least 12 people were killed and 31 more wounded as a heavy explosion happened close to the ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development in Kabul.
People who were killed during the explosion were ministry’s staff, Fraidon Azhand, spokesman for the ministry said. A suicide attacker hit a crowd of ministry’s employees at the entrance of the ministry while they were due to leave for home, officials say.
Meanwhile, at least 10 people were slightly wounded as a group of four suicide bombers stormed the education directorate in the eastern province of Nangarhar on Monday morning. All of the attackers were brought down by security forces shortly.
Taliban earlier announced a ceasefire with the Afghan government during the Eid days. After the announcement, the violence has intensified across the country with several deadly attacks carried out by Taliban on Afghan security forces and civilians.
More than 200 people, including military forces and civilians, were killed in the past two days, according to reports.
