Six-member delegation from Iran’s parliament to visit Evin prison

According to Mikrofonnews Agency (MHA), a six-member delegation from Iran’s parliament is expected to visit Evin prison on Sunday, Iranian MPs say.

Permission was granted to the MPs by the Tehran Prosecution office. The decision was made after some reports were released about the concerning condition of the recent detainees, who were arrested during the anti-government demonstrations in Iran.

At least three of the detainees were died in the prison and the officials said committing suicide was the cause of deaths. Families of the three prisoners said signs of torture were seen in the bodies.  Some members of parliament have expressed concern about the condition of the detainees asking the authorities to release accurate information about them immediately.

Nearly four thousand people were detained during the demonstrations, according to the human rights organizations.
