Several Arab activists arrested in Iran ahead of ‘Eid al-Fitr

According to Mikrofonnews Agency (MHA), scores of Arabs minority in Iran have been arrested in Ahvaz ahead of ‘Eid, a religious festival of Muslims, on Wednesday.

Iran’s Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), says the arrested Arabs have been taken to an unknown place by security forces from Ahvaz Intelligence Office. The arrests are made ahead of ‘Eid days as there was a possibility of protests by Arabs in some cities of Iran.

Every year many Arabs are arrested ahead of ‘Eid days in Arab dominated cities of Iran as on the first and second days of ‘Eid, Arab activists stage a rally and visit families of Arab activists who have been executed in Iran and the families of the activities who are in prison. Iranian security forces act with sensitivity to the event.
