According to Mikrofonnews agency (MHA), members of the UN Security Council, including U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley have travelled to Afghanistan for the first time on Saturday.
A governmental source in the Afghan government who preferred to remain unknown told BBC the delegation will meet senior officials of the United Nations and Afghan government in Kabul. Deteriorating security situation in Afghanistan and political tensions inside the government will be discussed widely during the two-days discussions.
There is no more detail on the issue but some of the Afghan parliament members say the delegation may review Pakistan’s role in Afghanistan and may decide on drafting a resolution against Pakistan.
The UN Security Council had announced last week that a senior delegation will travel to Afghanistan to review the overall situation in the war-torn country. Hundreds of Afghan civilians have been killed in the recent brutal attacks carried out by terrorist groups.
