According to Mikrofon news agency (MHA), human rights organizations in Iran say more than 2094 people have been arrested by security forces during the recent demonstrations in Iran. “So far the arrest of 2094 people has been confirmed but the real number may be much higher than this”, says Human Rights Activists News Agency. Iran has been scene of countrywide demonstrations against rising prices and corruption in the government in the recent days. U.S. has supported the demonstrations and Iran called the protests illegal. At least 21 people were killed and hundreds were wounded in clashes between protesters and Iran’s security forces in different parts of Iran. Iranian officials have confirmed arrest of some 1000 people so far.
