Local official sacked for insulting Journalist in Esfahan

According to Mikrofonnews Agency (MHA), district chief of Gulpaigan, in the central province of Esfahan was fired after insulting an Iranian journalist on Wednesday.

Hussain Farasat is threating the journalist from a local weekly “Nasl-e-nov” who was there to cover a media event.

He asks the reporter to not take photo of him and as the journalists says he has come to cover the event the district chief attacked him and threatened to beat him and expel him from the meeting, video recordings from the scene show.

Hours after the incident, Iran’s Interior Ministry said the district chief was sacked by the governor of Esfahan on Wednesday.
