According to Mikrofonnews Agency (MHA), Iraq’s Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi says Baghdad will prevent terrorist attacks on Turkey, adding that the country will not allow terrorists to use Iraq’s soil against Turkey.
Speaking with Turkish Prime minster Binali Yildrim on Phone, Abadi has said on Tuesday that necessary orders have been given to the Iraqi forces regarding the issue. Turkey has warned several times against large presence of PKK terrorists in Iraq.
Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stressed that his country would not allow Sinjar to become a stronghold for the PKK, which established a presence there in 2014 on the pretext of fighting the Daesh terrorist group.
The issue is now reportedly the subject of discussions between Iraqi and Turkish officials. Dozens of Iraqi forces were deploy to Sinjar on Sunday as a part of terrorists encounter operation in the area.
