Iranian women beaten for protesting forced hijab

According to Mikrofonnews Agency (MHA), a young Iranian woman who protested forced hijab in Iran recently is beaten in custody, Nasrin Sotoudeh, a human rights activists says.

The woman, named Shahparak, took off her veil in Gheitariyeh Street in Tehran on Wednesday waving it on a piece of stick. Meanwhile the way a policeman treated another Iranian woman protesting forced hijab in Tehran has prompted criticism among human rights activists.

A short video posted on social media shows an Iranian policeman, who strikes the woman from behind and throws her down from the metal box, after she refused to come down.

Iranian officials are confronting with the women who protest forced hijab in the hardline Islamic country, harshly putting them into jail. Several women have been arrested by security forces recently, whom condition are not very clear.
