Iranian MPs speak of a possible U.S. attack on “Sanchi”

According to Mikrofonnews agency (MHA), some members of Iranian parliament have accused The United States of America of firing a missile at Iranian oil tanker which sunk off China coast on Monday.

The tanker collided with a cargo ship returning from the United States of America on January 6. All the 32 crew members of the ship were killed in the incident. Tabnak, a news agency in Iran has quoted some Iranian MPs that the oil tanker didn’t collided but was targeted by a missile by America.

The MPs claim that the oil tanker (Sanchi), using flag of Panama, was carrying oil to the North Korea not to the South Korea as it was said before, and that is the reason that the United States of America targeted the tanker.

The MPs are asking if the oil tanker has collided with a Chinese cargo ship why there is no any image from the Chinese ship? Or they say how it is possible that all of the 21 crew members of the cargo ship were rescued after the incident but all of the crew members of the Iranian oil tanker were killed in the incident?

The rumors are not confirmed by any independent source. The oil tanker was carrying 136,000 tons of condensate, that is equivalent to just under 1 million barrels, worth about $60 million, based on global crude oil prices. This the first major sea incident for Iran since the sanctions were lifted two years ago.
