According to Mikrofonnews agency (MHA), Turkey has urged Iran and Russia to do your responsibilities as guarantor states in Syria.
The comments by Mevlut Cavusoglu, Turkish Foreign Minister came on Wednesday after a recent attack of Bashar Assad on moderate opposition groups in northwestern city of Idlip in Syria. “Iran and Russia should fulfill the responsibilities [as guarantor states] in Syria.
If you are the guarantors — yes you are — you should stop the regime. It’s not just a simple airstrike. The regime is moving in Idlib. The intent here is different”, says Cavusoglu, according to Anadolu news agency, adding that Turkey is the guarantor of the moderate opposition.
He said this is not appropriate to bomb the whole city on the pretext that some terrorists are hiding there. Ambassadors of Russia and Iran were summoned by the Turkish Foreign Ministry on Tuesday following Bashar al-Assad regime’s attacks in Syrian city of Idlib.
Syria is in a state of civil war since early 2011, which has killed hundreds of thousands of people so far, according to UN officials.
