Dozens killed in clashes in Yemen

According to Mikrofonnews Agency (MHA), 18 Houthi militants and 8 Yemeni soldiers have been killed during clashes in Yemen, officials say.

Clashes erupted during a military operation carried out by Yemeni soldiers, supported by airstrikes conducted by Arab-led coalition in west of Taiz city. Many areas have been cleared of the Houthi militants in Taiz city, officials say.

The military operation was launched last Thursday to break a blockade of Taiz, a city which is under the siege of Houthi militants since August 2015. Meanwhile Yemen’s Health Ministry says at least 12 people have been killed and 132 wounded in clashes between Yemeni forces and forces loyal to Southern Separatists Movement in Aden.

Committee of Red Crescent has also said clashes were continued during night in the areal close to its office in Aden.
