According to Mikrofonnews agency (MHA), scores of university students who were detained during the recent anti-demonstrations in Iran will be freed by Thursday by an order from Iran’s President, officials said on Wednesday.
Iran’s Higher Education Minister, Mansur Ghulami said the president has issued the order and the students will be freed from the detentions centers and prisons by Thursday. Some one hundred university students were arrested by Iran’s security forces during the recent demonstrations.
Most of the students were not involved in the protests, according to the human rights organizations.
At least 26 people were killed and more than 3700 people were arrested during the anti-government demonstrations in Iran, which was started on December 28.
