China announces new tariffs on U.S. commodities

According to Mikrofonnews Agency (MHA), China has announced new tariffs on U.S. goods in a retaliatory action days after U.S. President outlined new tariffs on Chinese goods, worth 60 billion dollars.

The new tariffs, which will go into effect from Monday April 2, are imposed on 130 items U.S. export to China, including fruit, pork and related products. Chinese Commerce Ministry says it has imposed 15% tariffs on Fruit and related products, and another 25% is announced on pork and all related products.

The decision came as the United States of America announced new tariffs on steel and aluminum, two main commodities that China exports to America. China had warned that will respond to the U.S. decision, described as a trade war between China and America by experts.
