Body of Damavand’s crew member is found after 7 days

According to Mikrofonnews agency (MHA), body of Bizhen Zaare, crew member of Damavand warship and a commando officer,  has been found 7 days after the warship collided with a wave breaker in the Caspian sea, Iranian officials say.

The warship with the 18 crew members on board, collided the wave breaker in Anzali port. Storm and high waves were announced as the main cause for the incident. Two of the crew members were missing and Iran says search operation for the second crew member of Damavand is still underway.

Damavand, now seriously damaged, with 100 meters length and more than 1300 tones weight, is one of the biggest war ships of Iran which was officially launched in 2012 by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran’s former President.
